70 Million Euros for Humanoid Robot Venture Generative Bionics

Details of the Investment Round
Generative Bionics, a subsidiary of the Italian Institute of Technology, received a 70 million euro investment in the round led by CDP Venture Capital’s AI Fund. Strategic partners such as USDT issuer Tether, as well as AMD Ventures, Duferco, Eni Next and RoboIT, also participated in the round.
Technology Goals and Production Plan
The company will use the funding obtained to develop Physical AI systems and establish a dedicated production facility. The main sectors in focus are:
- Logistics automation
- Health technologies
- Industrial manufacturing
Generative Bionics is working on systems that combine humanoid robotics and AI. The company aims to introduce its first commercial robot at CES 2026 in Las Vegas.
R&D Background and Market Expectations
The startup, which currently has 60 humanoid robot prototypes, has been conducting R&D activities for more than 20 years with its team of 70 engineers and scientists. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino noted that humanoid robotics strengthens digital and physical infrastructure, stating that this technology represents the evolution of intelligence and capabilities in the real world.
The global humanoid robotics market is projected to exceed 200 billion euros by 2035 and 5 trillion euros by 2050, together with the widespread adoption of industrial automation.
