OpenAI and Nvidia Investment Process
Talks on Nvidia’s expected investment in OpenAI stalled due to disagreements over the business model and concerns from Nvidia employees. Although Sam Altman is seeking alternative chip makers, he stated that cooperation with Nvidia continues. Bloomberg reports that the investment could come in below previous expectations, at around $20 billion.
Intel and Activity in the Chip Market
As Apple evaluates alternatives outside TSMC in its supply chain due to rising costs, Intel returned to the agenda. Meanwhile, Intel is officially entering the market by bringing competition in the processor market into the GPU sector dominated by Nvidia.
SpaceX and xAI Merger
SpaceX incorporated Elon Musk’s AI venture xAI at a $250 billion valuation. After the merger, the goal was announced as establishing space-based data centers. xAI also released version 1.0 of its video generation model Grok Imagine.
