Anthropic announced Claude Opus 4.6, the new version of Opus, its most powerful language model series. Equipped beyond being a language model with “AI agent” capabilities, this version focuses on end-to-end management of complex projects and autonomous debugging processes.
1 Million Tokens and Adaptive Thinking
Claude Opus 4.6 stands out with its 1 million token context window offered in beta. This capacity enables large codebases or extensive documentation to be processed and analyzed in a single pass. The “Adaptive Thinking” feature added to the model enables the system to weigh the complexity of the problem and autonomously determine the need for deep thinking.
Technical Capabilities and Performance
The model, which achieved a high success rate in Terminal-Bench 2.0 tests, offers advanced debugging and code review capabilities for software developers. The model, whose reasoning ability was enhanced in fields such as finance and engineering, managed to outperform rivals such as GPT-5.2 in GDPval-AA tests.
The standout features of Claude Opus 4.6 are as follows:
