Anthropic Opus 4.6 and AI Agents Announced
Anthropic updated its flagship language model series and released version Opus 4.6. Following the previous version, Opus 4.5, this update includes technical improvements especially for enterprise workflows and software development processes.
Multi-Agent Architecture
The most important feature introduced with Opus 4.6 is the system called “agent teams.” This structure enables complex operations to be distributed among multiple AI agents instead of a single model. The agents can process tasks in parallel and work in coordination with each other.
According to statements by Anthropic Product Manager Scott White, the distribution of responsibilities significantly accelerates processes compared with performing tasks sequentially. This feature is currently available as a research preview for API users and certain subscribers.
Context Capacity and Integration
The model’s technical features and the innovations it brings include the following:
- 1 Million Token Context: Matched with the Sonnet series, this capacity enables large codebases and long technical documents to be processed in a single session.
- PowerPoint Integration: Users can create and edit presentation files directly through the Claude interface without transferring external files.
The new model aims to increase efficiency in the software development ecosystem and in data-intensive professional fields thanks to expanded memory management.
