Strategic Infrastructure Agreement Between Google and Apple

Apple made a major change in its AI strategy and entered into a comprehensive partnership with Google. Under the agreement, Apple will use Google’s Gemini models and cloud infrastructure to support AI features on its devices, especially Siri. In a joint statement by the two companies, it was stated that Google technology provides the most capable infrastructure for Apple’s core AI models.

Gemini 3 and Cloud Integration

Looking at the technical details, the integration centers on Google’s Gemini 3 model. This move by Apple shows that the company will use its own private cloud infrastructure and Google’s server capacity in a hybrid structure. According to Bloomberg sources, the annual financial value of the agreement is about $1 billion. This partnership aims to address infrastructure gaps ahead of the major Siri update that Apple is claimed to have postponed to 2026.

OpenAI Partnership Continues

This agreement with Google does not mean Apple has ended its existing AI partnerships. The company will continue to use OpenAI and ChatGPT models for complex queries and some features within Apple Intelligence. The Google integration is expected to optimize the balance between on-device processing and cloud-based operations.

  • Model: Google Gemini 3
  • Scope: Siri and core AI functions
  • Infrastructure: Google Cloud and Apple Private Cloud
  • Cost: Estimated $1 billion annually
