New Language Models and Open-Source Developments

This week, major model launches took place in the AI ecosystem on both the closed-source and open-source sides. OpenAI announced GPT-5.2, its most advanced model designed for developers and professional use. At the same time, Mistral introduced the coding-focused 123B-parameter Devstral 2 model and the 24B-parameter Small 2 variant. Devstral 2 offers an alternative to larger models by showing high performance in SWE-bench tests.

Agentic AI Foundation and Industry Collaborations

OpenAI, Anthropic, and Block established the “Agentic AI Foundation” under the management of the Linux Foundation. This initiative aims to set common standards in the AI agent ecosystem and unify open-source tools. While the founding members contribute through core projects such as the Model Context Protocol and AGENTS.md, tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, and AWS are also among the supporting members.

Integrations and Hardware

In software integrations, Anthropic brought Claude Code to the Slack environment, enabling direct bug reporting and coding sessions. Adobe, meanwhile, integrated its Photoshop, Express, and Acrobat products with ChatGPT. On the hardware side, Google announced its AI-powered smart glasses planned for 2026, while Core Devices introduced its Index 01 smart ring that runs a local LLM.
