Strategic Moves from Tech Giants
Competition in the AI sector has accelerated on both the product development and funding sides. OpenAI has started testing ad displays in the free versions of ChatGPT in the US market. The company also announced that the Codex macOS app surpassed 1 million downloads in its first week and that the new GPT-5.3-Codex-Spark model is powered by Cerebras chips.
Meanwhile, Anthropic offered free users new capabilities such as creating files and connecting to external services. On the Apple side, while Siri’s AI update was delayed, it was stated that the CarPlay platform will be opened to third-party chatbots. Amazon is working on an AI content licensing marketplace that will operate integrated with AWS products.

- ByteDance: The Seedance 2.0 beta model was introduced with cinematic shooting capabilities and synchronized audio features.
- Z.ai: Released GLM-5, its open-weight model with 744 billion parameters.
- Alibaba: The Qwen team made Qwen-Image-2.0, a visual generation model focused on text processing and speed, available for use.
- Isomorphic Labs: IsoDDE, a drug design engine that surpasses AlphaFold 3, was announced.
- ElevenLabs: Released the Audiobooks package for audiobook production.
Investment Ecosystem
Growth in the sector continues to be supported by large-scale funding rounds. The notable investment developments are:
- Anthropic: Raised $30 billion at a $380 billion valuation.
- Runway: Raised $315 million in a round with participation from Nvidia and Adobe, bringing its valuation to $5.3 billion.
- Apptronik: The humanoid robot startup raised more than $935 million in its Series A round.
- Others: Simile raised $100 million, Entire $60 million, and Complyance $20 million.
