New Infrastructure for Siri: Campos

Apple is putting its voice assistant Siri through a comprehensive transformation with iOS 27. This new structure, developed under the codename “Campos,” aims to turn Siri from an assistant that fulfills simple commands into an advanced chatbot capable of understanding context. According to information based on Bloomberg sources, this move is being made to ease the pressure of rivals such as OpenAI and Google on the ecosystem.

Technical Capabilities and Integration

The new Siri infrastructure is said to be supported by Google’s Gemini models and to focus on generative AI capabilities. Thanks to this integration, Siri will offer a personalized experience by analyzing user habits. The system’s prominent technical capabilities are as follows:

  • Complex Code Generation: Support for creating code snippets in software development processes.
  • Visual Generation: Production of visual material with text-based commands.
  • In-Depth Web Research: Detailed web-based scanning and synthesis for user queries.
  • File Analysis: Reading documents and producing quick summaries.
  • Contextual Memory: The ability to continue dialogue by remembering past conversations.

Apple’s strategy aims to reduce the dependence of iPhone and Mac users on third-party apps such as ChatGPT. These features, integrated into the core of the operating system, are expected to be introduced at the WWDC event to be held in June and made generally available in September.
